When did Amazon start selling sewing patterns? AND other ramblings...

I nearly fell over when I got an email from Amazon touting Simplicity patterns. When did this happen?

I know you can buy a sewing machine and almost any kind of notion...though I was amazed at the quality of sewing machine you could purchase from Amazon.  I know you can get Burda magazine subscriptions and they are my go to place to purchase a sewing book ~ but patterns?  Geesh I think Amazon is trying to take over the world!  Is fabric next?

I haven't sewn in two weeks.  People, I'm starting to shake from withdrawal. I spent so much time sewing in January and February that I hate that I've started March without spending any quality time in the sewing cave.  So this weekend, I'm going downstairs and I'm only leaving during the 47 hours to eat and for calls of nature.  I've got garments that need to be made!  I also can't believe that I'm losing an hour this weekend...seriously don't the powers that be realize that I NEED that hour!

Here's my dress now...

Hopefully I can turn it into something wearable this weekend...

However, this brings me to the spring phenomena that is appearing on some of my fellow sewing bloggers blogs...I understand how fed up with winter we all are, but, honestly I just can't sew for spring yet. Seriously, I'm still freezing! I can't imagine sewing a bunch of lightweight stuff that has to wait until late May/early June to be worn. That would definitely depress me...

So if I ever get that knit dress that's been laying on the sewing table for the last two weeks finished, I'm moving onto some red WOOL doubleknit fabric to make a few pieces from...

...sewing for spring...mutter mutter...ain't happening here...mutter mutter...folks are delusional...mutter mutter...there's still a whole lot of dayum snow on the ground here...

I want to say congratulations to my girl Oonaballoona who won first place in the Project Sewn competition!  This was Week Four's winning look...

...and it was a month of this type of deliciousness!  Girl you did the dayum thing and I'm sooooooo proud of you!  Congrats again...job well done!

I really appreciate all of the wonderful messages you left on the Featured Blogger post. I did something I normally don't ~ which is reply to almost every comment that was left. I truly appreciate all of your well wishes and wanted to show that. So thank you sooooooo much once again!

May I also add that Vogue is taking nominations for other sewing bloggers to feature.  If you have a favorite that you'd like to see spotlighted, make sure you send an email to the address in the magazine and I'm sure Vogue will consider them!

Finally, after thinking about it long and hard, I'm not applying to participate in The Sewing Bee.  I have my reasons but I'm wishing everyone that did apply good luck!  Hopefully the pilot will be really successful and they will need a lot of sewists to participate in the series. If I learn any new information about the pilot or the series, I will post it to the blog!

Okay that wasn't the last thing...just one more thing...it's a little thing but it's starting to bother me.  My given name is Carolyn.  I really hate Caroline just so you know...

...as always more later!
